The Willow cat aggravated me so
Always having to defend him to others
forever causing me trouble
He was wild.

But when I'd get home from work,
the Willow cat met me through the glass on the hood of the car.
He followed me around the yard, And on very long walks
Always a few strides behind me

He'd saunter towards me in the garden,
rubbing my heels until the muddy gloves came off.
I'd hold him and he'd arch his head back as I pet him...

This took me by surprise, this loss.
wholly unexpected.

He's still out there all soft and white
wrapped in his blanket under the cold ground
I just want to dig him up and look at him.

I cant seem to shake this feeling
He's just gone.

I'm feeling this loss more than any other
like I've lost a part of myself.
Like I lost a dear friend.

As my husband headed out to the mountains,
I cried myself to sleep this morning.

I'm so sorry. I lost my dear 15 year old lady cat last summer and I cried for days. Keep him in your thoughts and close to your heart. He'd want it that way.
