I've just seen this over at the enhabiten blog. It seems that every time i give up on planting the roof of our garage, something reminds me that's precisely what needs to be done!
Mmmm. Have you heard of WWOOFing? It's where you stay with people (from anywhere in the world!) who live on a farm and lend them a helping hand for anywhere from a few days to a few months. I think I may do this next year and found many many houses with planted roofs in Denmark. They make houses out of straw bales there too.
Yes, We are actually members of wwoof USA, and plan to join the international groups in the next couple of years. We havent gotten around to visiting anyone yet, but have done tons of reading on the individual farms that we are interested in seeing... i can not wait to start that, its just very hard when you have a full time job, and the only time you have off is the dead of winter....
