after a long day in the garden

I ripped out the bolted broccolies
And a million and one weeds
Then I sat in the shade
Of the newly pruned
Trees
Stared into the eyes of the most beautiful of men
As, once again, he regaled me with stories
Of seemingly impossible situations
And tree identifications
Now Ill wait
And hang the laundry
In the dark of the night
Out amongst
the fireflies
