Its trying to snow out...
Here is my latest creation and terrible disappointment. I spent the last hour or so working on the embroidery. I worked up about 10 designs for these jar tops in the past few days, and i figured id start with the simplest one...
All, was going well, the stem seemed to take forever, but once i got the leaves going it all started coming together for me. Excited to show it to Stephen (sitting next to me playing Grand theft auto), I rushed out onto the back porch and sprayed the lid with adhesive. Mind you i was doing this in the dark...
As i walked back through the dimly lit kitchen towards the living room i pressed the fabric to the lid... Then as i walked in to the light my heart sank. In the darkness id over sprayed the adhesive which had pooled in the middle... and i just pressed my hours worth of work right into it.
To be honest its about 30 minutes later now and i still want to cry. Wasted time, wasted materials, wasted since of accomplishment... Its going to be hard to make myself sit back down to do the same work all over again. I hope one of my older jar lids will fit under this ring. Id hate to have a wasted jar as well...

I just saw that i made my 50th sale from WeedsAndWildThings... At least somethings going my way today.
I glued 7 different old white buttons to the "spot" thanking it might help, but i think i only "countrified" it...
There has got to be a way to make that work. My thinking cap suggests perhaps making some white thread look like a fiddlehead? Or some contrasting material (maybe green?) with a flower embroidered on it? If I think of anything else, I'll let you know...
the spot looked like a heart to me. i had no idea it wasn't supposed to be there at first : ]
Well, now i plucked off the buttons cause i am not a country style gal... Thanks for the suggestions, ill post what ever ends up happening to it eventually :)
You live and learn...
hi!
first time to your blog and sorry to see your mishap! Could you cut around the stitching and applique it onto another piece of fabric and make it look like "you meant to do that"?!!!

I know exactly how you feel. But it really does still look beautiful, such a nice job you did :)
Oh, thanks so much for all of your support! you are all wonderful...
Of course i still have not picked back up where i left off, even though i have many other designs drawn up and all of the supplies sitting there waiting.
Ive been extremely busy filling city orders lately and cant wait to have time for new projects again.
ill be sure to post when i get back around to it!
