First terrariums on Etsy

I have recently taken notice of what i seem to have started here on Etsy...
Now i know that terrariums have been around since the Victorian era, but when i discovered Etsy i was just thrilled to find that no one was selling terrariums, one of my favorite things to make... I already had a room full of them, and certainly needed to cut back the collection...
As soon as i listed it seemed everyone was interested...
I went along for a good 6 or 8 months before anyone saw fit to give me a little friendly competition... now there are something like 10 etsians selling terrariums.
I have to admit that at first this was a little disheartening, but the more moss the better, i suppose. (so long as its not being taken from its natural habitat) Besides, If i had any more sales i think id go crazy... I have a job at a nursery that takes up a good amount of my time already...

Lately Ive been leaving my shop alone for the most part. I settled on a few good terrariums for the holiday season, and Ive been making everything to order... Im finally seeing the light at the end of that tunnel. I seriously cant wait to make some new and exciting things for my shop, its definitely time to change things up a bit.

I'm also putting a lot of work into readying forest keeper dolls for my other shop (weedsandwildthings). Ill have to take some pictures as soon as this rain ceases...
i have 16 dolls put together, and four or five have clothes, none are really elaborated on to any extent yet...

I love terrariums so much...and I live in a wooded area where I have a lot of natural materials right outside my doorstep. Question: Are there any agricultural laws regarding terrariums using common plants? -- I'm sure my backyard has no endangered moss or ferns in it, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of reg about selling a terrarium using home-harvested plants.

hi there,
yes there are many rules laid out by the USDA along with each individual states agricultural dept. THe best way to go is to harvest spores and be very very patient while growing your own mosses.
